Barcroft Park

4200 S Four Mile Run Dr
Arlington, VA 22206

This playground is just a short, 5 minute drive off of I-95, and is a welcome rest stop after fighting the traffic trying to get through DC. It’s also a nice excursion if you live in the Northern Virginia area and want to explore someplace new with the kids.

This park boasts 3 separate playgrounds scattered around the park near the picnic areas. The largest of the three is located closest to Four Mile Run Drive and the Barcroft Sport and Fitness Center. There is also a restroom close to this playground.

There is a large cargo net, a padded play surface, a seesaw, bucket spinners, and a small toddler play structure. However, there are no swings at this particular playground.

To get to one of the other playgrounds, follow the path through the baseball/softball fields, over the bridge. The playground is right by Four Mile Run trail and is in a shaded area. There are both regular swings and infant swings at this playground. So, if cargo nets are not quite your kids speed, take a short 5 minute walk (maybe longer if you have toddlers walking with you) over to this other playground.

Beyond the playgrounds, there is so much else here as well. There are baseball/softball fields, a football field, a fishing pond, basketball, tennis courts, handball, horseshoe pits, volleyball, and soccer fields. This park is definitely worth a visit because you are sure to find a little something for everyone.
