My husband and I love to travel and have lived on both sides of the country and many places in between. Now that we have children, playgrounds are a crucial element in making any trip or move an enjoyable adventure. The idea for this site came about when we were moving our family across the country and had several long, boring days in the car with two little children. We were desperate to find a playground where we could stop and stretch our legs and let the children play, but we also didn’t want to make a huge detour off the highway if the park didn’t actually have a playground (we could just go to a rest stop in that case) or if the playground was old, rusted and run down (which did happen once on a very disappointing detour that we took). I just kept thinking that I wish there was a website with pictures and reviews of playgrounds so that no matter what city or state we were in, we could find a good place to take our kids. So, I decided to start one myself that would provide exactly the information I am looking for. The pictures are one of the key elements on this website, because it’s important to know that the playground I may have to go out of my way to find is worth the trip.
I have been pleasantly surprised by most of the playgrounds discovered along the way. Some are hidden gems that many of my friends in the local area have never even discovered themselves. Most have more to offer at the park than just the playgrounds, which is also great (like little trails through the woods that lead to beautiful views of the water).
With the help of contributors reviews and pictures, my goal is that all parents, nannies, babysitters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, legal guardians, etc., will utilize this website to find and share their favorite playground with others. Let’s make every outing a fun one and start playing across America!
