Our Purpose and Mission

Our Mission:

Simply stated, the mission of PlayAcrossAmerica is to find and share playgrounds from all across America (and on U.S. Military installations around the world). Our website is designed to serve as a resource for anyone in search of a playground. Our aim is to provide a forum for collecting and sharing photos and reviews of playgrounds. Whether the playground is fantastic or dilapidated, we want to share reviews and pictures for all playgrounds. This way, people in search of a playground can know which playgrounds are worth going out of their way for and which ones are not worth the trip.

Our Goal:

The ultimate goal here at PlayAcrossAmerica is to become the number one resource for finding information on playgrounds throughout America. We hope to build an enormous database of playground reviews so that no matter where you live or travel in America, you can find a playground (complete with pictures and reviews).

We want to share the joy that so many children experience through natural play and finding a great playground is sometimes challenging. We want to help make your search easier. And, when the weather turns cold and rainy, we plan to help you find indoor play areas where kids can burn off some energy for little or no cost!

With the help of fellow playground goers submitting new reviews and rating playgrounds found on our site, we can build a valuable resource for anyone in search of a playground.

What You Will Find on the Website:

Here, at PlayAcrossAmerica, visitors can browse photos and reviews of playgrounds throughout America (Canada included). You can get driving directions to the playground of your choice simply by clicking on the address associated with the review. Visitors can also view our Playground Map to see where we currently have playground reviews (keep checking back, as we are always adding new playgrounds).

Though we are not a military website, we would like to support the families who are military and do move frequently. We have a specific category on the website set aside for military installations. As a military spouse and former Army Brat, I know that the stress of moving can be eased a little when you know what is waiting for you at the other end. A great playground or skate park may help excite children who are apprehensive about the move. By sharing playgrounds on and near military installations around the world, we hope to bring a little joy to those families as they serve our country.

Why Canada, you may ask? Well, why not? Twelve of the States share a border with Canada and, frankly, we here at PlayAcrossAmerica love Canada!!!
